Donate to Washington, DC Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors

Each year, between 140 and 160 officers are killed nationally in the line of duty and their families and co-workers are left to cope with the tragic loss. The national and local chapters of C.O.P.S. provide resources to help them rebuild their shattered lives.

There is no membership fee to join C.O.P.S. – the price paid is already too high.

The Washington, DC Chapter of C.O.P.S. began its mission in 1998. C.O.P.S. as an organization DOES NOT solicit money by telephone. If you ever get a call by any organization by that name (which has been happening) it is not the Concerns of Police Survivors on the national or local level.

The Washington, DC Chapter of C.O.P.S. is registered to participate in a fund raising program known as AmazonSmile. It is a simple and automatic way for you to support the Chapter every time you shop, at no cost to you. When you shop at smile.amazon.com, you will find the exact same low prices, vast selection and convenient shopping experience as Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to the Chapter. Tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible. You can use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings are also the same. On your first visit to AmazonSmile you need to select the DC Chapter to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. As a rule, the AmazonSmile Foundation will usually donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. Donations are made by the AmazonSmile Foundation and are not tax deductible by you. For further details go to http://smile.amazon.com. The following link will connect you directly to smile.amazon in support of the Chapter: http://smile.amazon.com/ch/52-2203759.

Aside from occasional fundraisers, we rely on donations from supportive organizations, businesses and individuals. We are a tax exempt 501(c)(3) charity {EIN: 52-2203759}. All of our board members are volunteers and survivors (e.g., parents, spouses, co-workers, siblings, adult children, significant others, etc.) and receive no salary

If you would like to donate by mail, please use the mailing address listed below — any amount would be appreciated. All of us thank you in advance for your generosity. Your check or money order can be made payable to: Washington, DC Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors.
